We spend so much time being stressed out that we forget that it’s not our natural state of being. We forget how we used to seem to shine. So how do you get your sparkle back? The journey of finding your sparkle begins with acknowledging your own inherent worth.
We all have a unique light that we bring to the world, we all have a sparkle. It’s that special light within you that makes you glow. It’s your inner radiance. But sometimes that radiance can get dulled. It’s truly a rediscovery of your sparkle, because it’s always been there within you. We’re just going to help it shine a little brighter.
Reflect
Spend some time reflecting and try to figure out when the last time you really sparkled. Try to recall the last time you felt radiant. What were you doing? Who were you with? One of the keys to finding your sparkle again is to listen to your heart.
Recalling where you were the last time you really felt good can guide you in the right direction. But it’s also important to acknowledge change. People grow, evolve and change over time. The things, and people, that used to make you sparkle might not anymore. Don’t be afraid to let go of what no longer serves you, or dims your light.
I know that when we’re feeling down it can difficult to remember the last time we truly felt happy. But it’s important that you aren’t too hard on yourself. If you’re struggling with this practice, try the opposite. Try to pinpoint what exactly is making your sparkle feel so dulled lately. Remember that this reflection serves to help you figure out where to start, but it’s not the final word.
Find Good Vibes
Surround yourself with people and content that uplifts and inspires you. Stop interacting with people and content that don’t make you happy. If scrolling through your feed makes you feel bad about yourself, you need to take some time to fix it. Unfollow, mute, block and do whatever you need to.
Positive energy can be incredibly contagious. When you see other people who are motivated, passionate, and enthusiastic it might just rub off on you. Being in positive environments can lift your spirits and help your sparkle to shine through.
If you’re having trouble finding good vibes from sources close to you, try being the good vibes instead. Recognize and appreciate all the good you already have in your life, shifting your focus away from lack and desperation. Helping someone else to find their own sparkle might just help you find your own.
Prioritize Fun
When you’re feeling dull and stressed out, you’re probably not too focused on having fun. But when it comes to finding your sparkle, laughter can be one of the best medicines.
When you’re busy, having fun and laughing aren’t usually found at the top of your to-do list. But that’s a mistake. Fun is an essential component of a well-rounded life. Even if you don’t have much time to spare, you can still find small ways to inject joy into your day.
Listen to a funny podcast during your commute, watch a comedy show after work, or just joke around with your friends. People tend to glow when they’re happy, not the other way around.
Try Something New
We all know Life can be stressful and monotonous, but can sometimes forget that life can also be exciting and full of surprises! If you can’t find your sparkle, it might be where you’re looking for it. Finding your sparkle can often require stepping out of your comfort zone.
Trying new things and exploring new horizons can help you gain perspective and stimulate your creativity. You may also discover a passion you didn’t even know existed by engaging in new hobbies.
New experiences can help build confidence in yourself, leading to you shining even more brightly than before. Don’t be afraid of new and different things just because you haven’t tried them yet.
Practice Self-Care
If you want to sparkle, you have to practice self-care. Stop thinking of it as a luxury and start thinking about it like the crucial duty it is. You have to fill your own cup first, you can’t pour from an empty vessel.
What exactly self-care entails is entirely up to the person who knows you best – you. I know, you’re probably thinking that you don’t have time, but you do. Self-care can be squeezed into even the briefest of moments. Even as little as 5 minutes is better than none.
Regular self-care helps to replenish your energy levels, reduce stress and maintain balance in your life. But if you’ve been neglecting your self-care for a while, you’re overdue and should really take the time to pamper yourself. Self-care is fundamental for anyone who is working on finding their sparkle.
Rest and Replenish
Rest isn’t just about getting enough sleep (though that’s really important too!), it’s also about giving yourself permission to pause and take a break when you need one. We all know that rest is a huge contributor to our energy levels, but it can even impact our enthusiasm. You need to have enough energy to pursue the things you enjoy in life.
Not getting enough rest can lead to irritability, higher stress levels and an overall negative outlook on life. There’s nothing sparkly about that. Beyond just sleep, you can replenish yourself through deep breathing and meditation. When you get enough rest, you just feel better all around.
I want to make sure I say that it’s perfectly normal not to feel “sparkly” all the time. But your sparkle is also a reflection of yourself, it never fully goes away. By reconnecting with yourself you can sparkle and shine brightly again.
By finding your sparkle, you not only brighten your own life, but also adds a special radiance to the world around you. The world shines a little brighter with your sparkle in it! Take the time to nurture your unique glow and let it guide you to a life of fulfillment and joy.
